What to send

The answers that are worth having depend on facts, and the facts are almost always in documents. If you can, include:

  • The date of the civil marriage, and where it was celebrated.
  • Your current status in Türkiye — permit type, expiry date, or the visa you entered on.
  • Any notification letter you have received, in full. The ground stated in it determines everything that follows.
  • Whether either spouse has a restriction code, a previous refusal or a prior marriage.
  • Which language you would prefer to correspond in — English, Turkish, Russian or Chinese.

What we cannot do by email

We cannot tell you whether your application will succeed without seeing the file, and we will not pretend otherwise. We cannot advise on your own country's nationality law — whether you may keep your existing citizenship after naturalising is a question for that state. And we cannot intervene in a file we do not act on.

If you have just been refusedThe 60-day window runs from the day after notification and it is strictly applied. Write with the notification letter attached, not after you have researched the position for a fortnight. See refusal and appeal.

Nothing sent through this page creates a lawyer–client relationship. One arises only when we have checked for conflicts and confirmed instructions in writing.
